Leaving to Austin tomorrow. Going to spend the week end with friends. And hopefully dodge the Ike hurricane. Not that I wouldn't mind roughing it out, but when you have kids you think twice. So I'll keep you posted. Keep all the Houston people in your prayers. :)

My cute kidz
I think this is the funniest I just have to share it with you all.
Meal times is usually a hassle in it self for almost all kids. Well at least it is for my oldest as he's as picky as they get. So tonight I made Chicken Adobo, and warmed up some Lentils for those that desired it. So there was the choice between the two. With Kaden you basically just put a plate down in front of him and he's chowing it down. Ethan is another story all together, I have to basically force him to eat each time. Anyway, Kaden had eaten a little earlier as it was past 7 and he was hungry. The other kids came down just a tad later and so I go to make Ethan his plate, a little Rice... Mom-"chicken or Lentils?"...Ethan- "Chicken." Mom-"Ok! And all the kids have to have a little veggie, so I'm going to serve you a little okra, just 2 spoons." Ethan- "Mom do I have to, can I have lettuce instead?" Mom-"No Hunny, cause you do this about every time and you need to just eat what is being served." So the plate is made. And it's eating time. 15 min. later there's still nothing touched from his plate.. Mom- "you better eat or I'm going to have to send you to Grandpa or something. And you need to press in so we can get your brother and you to bed." Ethan-" Mom, do I have to eat it?" Kaden then pops up in the seat next to Ethan. Kaden-" Eat food... I call granpa" Mom- "Yes, eat your food and be a good sample to your little brother.." then kaden did the cutest thing... He picks up Ethan's spoon and says... Kaden-" Me feed you Ethan... Good boy, open." And proceeds from there on to clear the whole plate of food bite by bite into his big brothers mouth. It was so cute yet odd being as it should have been the other way around. But I found my way now of getting my eldest son to eat his food. With his little brothers coxing. :D He was putting those spoon fulls in his mouth so fast that we had to tell him to slow it down some so he could chew his food, but it worked. and with in less the 10 min. everything in that plate was gone.
Then to add to it all.. at the end Kaden made a big scene for Ethan, like we do when a child first starts going pee in the potty. So Kaden goes off... Kaden-" Good boy Ethan, Good boy! Eat all food, Good boy... Yaaaay!! Mommy, Granma, Ethan eat all food. Yaaaaaay! " With that we all had to put our hands together and clap. And thus the lesson was learned.... If you have an older child that has a hard time eating, send his younger brother in to help him. And you'll be amazed at the results. Valhalla! Empty plate, No whinny kid, meal done in seconds. And a happy little bunch. THE END!
